1. Specification
1.1. Work with customers and Sales at time of bid to create a plan for the execution of project and then upon award work with Project Management, Design and Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure the plan is followed and provided additional planning on an as needed basis.
1.2. Develop fabrication estimates which plan for equipment, material, labor, and logistics constraints.
1.3. Develop installation estimates which plan for equipment and labor constraints.
2. Responsibilities
2.1. General
2.1.1. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
2.1.2. Collaborate with other members of the Operations Group to plan, design, and implement practical and cost effective solutions.
2.1.3. When required travel domestically to visit a Client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site.
2.1.4. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills.
2.1.5. Recognize areas for improvement and develop plans for implementation when possible.
2.1.6. Interface with Sales throughout the bid cycle.
2.1.7. Interface with Project Management, Design and Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production throughout project life cycle to ensure the plan produced at time of bid is followed and provide additional planning on an as needed basis.
2.1.8. Provide technical expertise during project kickoff meetings, bid reviews, project close-out meetings, and in other situations as applicable.
2.1.9. Work alongside Bunting’s Design and Engineering team to harmonize engineering and design during the early phases of product development.
2.2. Estimating - General
2.2.1. Input data to estimate correctly and consistently so it can be reviewed in-system.
2.2.2. Knowledge of the Principles behind the Theories of Estimating.
2.2.3. Prepare budgets for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
2.2.4. Interfaces with existing and potential vendors or subcontractors to receive pricing when required.
2.2.5. Create change order requests (COR's) as requested by Project Management.
2.2.6. Create takeoff drawings for any work in which quantities or location of product may be unclear.
2.3. Estimating - Fabrication
2.3.1. Demonstrate an understanding of manufacturing/fabrication processes and shop production methodology.
2.3.2. Identifies manufacturing constraints, uncommon materials (composition, availability, sizes), and long lead-time items.
2.3.3. Performs make vs. buy analysis with consideration for Bunting’s internal capabilities, integrating new projects into the master production schedule, and the time constraints required by the project.
2.3.4. Create cost loaded preliminary bill of materials broken down by assemblies and parts at time of bid to be incorporated into Bunting's EVMS schedule upon award.
2.3.5. Create production labor budgets broken down by assemblies and parts at time of bid to be incorporated into Bunting's EVMS schedule upon award.
2.3.6. Create preliminary logistics plan and budget at time of bid to be incorporated into Bunting's EVMS schedule upon award.
2.4. Estimating - Installation
2.4.1. Creates installation plan with consideration for site access, lay-down, staging and onsite storage availability, material transport options, and onsite equipment needs including equipment rentals required.
2.4.2. Create installation labor budgets broken down by assemblies and parts at time of bid to be incorporated into Bunting's EVMS schedule upon award.
2.4.3. When required, create permitting plan.

4. Qualifications
4.1. Education
4.1.1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field OR Associate's degree in a technical field.
4.2. Experience
4.2.1. 5+ years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry.
4.3. Training
4.3.1. Strong desire to have a meaningful impact on a project or project team.
4.3.2. Working knowledge of estimating process.
4.3.3. Working knowledge of metal fabrication process.
