The Metals Fabricator requires the ability to follow blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences use measuring tools to align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or sub-units, and use jigs, welding torches, hand tools and power tools. Candidate must be able to verify conformance of work pieces to specifications. Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes. Communicate job status to Fabrication Manager per job basis. Develop fixtures as necessary. Set up and operate welding equipment (welder qualification a plus). Use accrued knowledge and experience to correct flaws and imperfections without compromising quality requirements. Complete preventive maintenance requirements. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Hand Tools, Power Tools, TIG welder, MIG welder, stud welder; Measuring Tools (dial indicators, tape measures, straight edge/scale rulers, combination squares, levels, surface gauges, weld gauge); Forklift and overhead crane.
Education: HS diploma or equivalent ; Training: Appropriate trade school certification a plus; Experience: 4-5 yrs. experience in a metal fabrication shop.
