Careers | NHR-298, Brake Press/Rolling Operator, 2nd Shift
The Brake Press/Rolling position is responsible for setting up and operating brake presses, power rolls, shears and grinders to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form metal components. You should have the ability to understand engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences. Be able to Identify K factors used for bending material based on type and thickness. Develop and perform the braking or rolling sequences based upon the final dimensions shown on the drawings. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, measuring tapes, gauges, and/or jigs. Layout and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met. Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes. Perform tool changes utilizing fork truck, hoists, or cranes. Follow QC Inspection instructions. Maintain processing schedule to complete tasks by scheduled dates.
MRP Software: FileMaker; Tools: CNC Brake press, Power Rolls (3-pt.); Measuring Tools: dial indicators, tape measures, straight edge/scale rulers, T and combination squares, levels, surface gauges; Forklift and overhead crane.
Education: High School, Vocational School; Experience & Job Training: On-the-job experience.
