The Project Manager is responsible for risk management of contract related to all aspects of construction, schedule, safety, etc. as well as customer relationship and satisfaction management. You will coordinate, directs, supervise and control all aspects of assigned projects from conceptual design through construction, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Coordinate with general contractor, preceding and adjacent trades all BGI scope of work. Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts, and direct the negotiation of research contracts, develop, control and maintain in CPM schedule format the project schedule. You must possess a “muddy boots” attitude and be willing to get involved and push things through to completion when and where required. The Project Manager will travel as required to oversee progress of projects and maintain customer relationships and/or manage assigned Field Supervisors in the same capacity. Key is having the ability to function in both a leading and supporting role as the situation dictates. The ability to read shop drawings, existing architectural, civil/structural drawings, and related drawings is essential.
Computer skills to include CAD software — Autodesk AutoCAD software; Enterprise resource planning ERP software —FileMaker a Plus, Project management software — Microsoft Project, Word processing software — Microsoft Word; MS Office Suite.
Training: Supervisory or Management training courses, OSHA-10 Training a plus. Education: 4 year degree in a civil engineering, construction management or construction related field, or equivalent work experience, Post graduate degree a plus. Experience & Job Training: Minimum of 3-5 years project management experience, Working knowledge of structural engineering processes, Working knowledge of construction/installation processes.
