Mattress FactoryPittsburgh, PABunting was entrusted to produce the Hans Peter Kuhn light sculpture, Acupuncture, on a design assist basis for the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh. Bunting was responsible for the engineering, fabrication and installation of this one of a kind work of art which sits atop the museum/art gallery.
The sculpture consists of a half dozen illuminated six-inch in diameter tubes that appear to penetrate the building facade. Hans Peter Kuhn is a Berlin-based artist and composer who creates large-scale, site-specific light and sound environments for public spaces, museums, theaters, and dance venues. Kuhn's work has been exhibited at Centre Pompidou, Paris; MoMA PS1, New York; Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin. |
